Laurie Blanton was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008. She began her legal career in 1996 with a degree from Palm Beach Community College as a Legal Assistant. She became a Certified Legal Assistant in 1997 and worked in that capacity until beginning law school in January, 2006.

Blanton graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2004.

She received her law degree from Washburn University School of Law, where she graduate with honors and earned awards for the best written work in both her Property and Juvenile Offender classes.

Blanton has been also an adjunct professor at Manatee Community College where she taught courses for the Paralegal/Legal Assistant Degree Program.

By starting off her legal career as a paralegal, she has a great background on how a case is handled from beginning to end.

Joining the Holland Law Group as the managing bankruptcy attorney was just the next logical step. Laurie now has more time to focus on what she loves to do, helping more people seek financial relief thru the bankruptcy process.

  Another realtor has plead guilty to mortgage fraud. The case is out of North Carolina and is just the beginning of what many government officials are calling a nationwide investigation into real estate investments. Gregory Rankin plead guilty to a mortgage fraud scheme that is said to have been related to over $15 million in loans and 270 properties in Mecklenburg County. Russian Spies Arrested

 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) has arrested 11 people in four different states on spying charges. They are all Russian nationals and are alleged to have been directed by the S.V.R., which is the successor agency to the K.G.B.. The 11 people were alleged to have been directed to gather information on nuclear weapons, federal politics and policy, and other advanced research. The defendants have not been charged with espionage and from most reports it is unclear as to what the exact spying activities are being charged. Lawyer office in US . 4th Circuit Upholds Dismissal in Wrongful Death Case

 In an unpublished opinion, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals recently upheld a wrongful death case coming from the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina at Charleston. According to the statement of facts, a man walked into a grocery store and threatened the store employees with a knife, took a ham and left the facility. Lawyer office in US . The police stopped the man outside of the store and he refused to drop the knife. The police used pepper spray and batons in an attempt to stop him, and eventually shot him because he would not drop his weapon. Personal representatives of the decedent brought a claim against local law enforcement for wrongful death, survival and loss of consortium. Specifically, the plaintiff argued that the police officr's use of deadly force constituted a Fourth Amendment violation.
